All the Tiger Woods fans are all set to assemble. After almost six months, the 48 YO comes bearing good news. The 2024 season was indeed a terrible one for him. He tried to start off the year with an appearance at The Genesis Invitational in February.
But after scoring 72 in the opening round, he had to withdraw from the event due to the flu. He then appeared in the four Majors of the PGA Tour. Unfortunately, after setting a record of making the cut at the Masters, he dropped down to the bottom of the leaderboard after the final in Augusta National.
And well, for the remaining three of them, he missed the cuts. Woods was last seen teeing off in July at the Open Championship in Royal Troon. Since then he failed to make a come back at all. And with the recent occurrences, the possibility only started looking slimmer. But finally, there is a ray of hope!
Tiger Woods confirms comeback at the 2024 PNC Championship with Charlie Woods
Tiger Woods was supposed to make a comeback for his own event at the 2024 Hero World Challenge in Albany. However, he ended up having his sixth back surgery in the past ten years in September. Thus, he was forced to withdraw at the last moment since he needed more time to recover.
Till the last moment, there was no news of the PNC Championship this year either, as even the list of confirmed teams did not have their names. However just a few days ago, the PGA Tour took to their official Instagram account and made the most awaited announcement. “Team Woods will compete in their fifth @PNCChampionship next week.”
They also shared some of the best moments that they have had in the past four years in a compiled video. Tiger Wood enjoys playing with his son, and is hoping for a redemption this year. They have never won the event, but they finished runner-up to John Daly and son John Daly II in 2021 and placed T5 last year.
Do you think after all the turmoil, he will finally come out victorious in the family affair? Stay tuned to find out more updates!
