Saudi-Backed LIV Golf Secures Agreement for India Tournament

LIV Golf is all in to put competition for the PGA Tour, and the DP World Tour. A PIF merger was to take place on December 31, 2023, to end the splits in the golf world. However, it is close to a year, and there has been no mention of the advancement of the agreement. The PGA Tour has announced its schedule for the 2025 season, and the breakaway league is running just alike. It has scheduled some of its events on the same date as the league led by Jay Monahan. And now, looks like there is another key aspect to look out for, which will help it stand out.

LIV Golf expands to India

LIV Golf will be hosting its first event in India early in 2025 amid its continued expansion and impasse trying to rule over golf’s global calmer. According to the reports of Sky News, Greg Norman, who is currently the commissioner and CEO of the Breakaway League, managed to reach out and make a deal that will enable his league to host an event at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon in February 2025.

The entire details of the agreement are yet to be formally signed. However, the venue will witness hosting a LIV International Series event featuring 148 international golfers alongside up to 16 LIV League golfers, for the first time.
