After an incredible run of clinching five consecutive wins this spring, World No. 1 Nelly Korda earned her first LPGA Rolex Player of the Year award. Through a news release on Monday, Korda said,
“Winning the Rolex Player of the Year means so much to me. This season has had its highs and challenges and I’m just really grateful for the people around me who have helped me get there. It’s been a team effort, and I’m proud to share this moment with them.”
The 26-year-old has claimed six victories this year, including her second major title at the Chevron Championship. Additionally, Korda has also accounted for three top-10 finishes this year.

Nelly Korda is the second consecutive American to win the award since Lilla Vu. The last such back-to-back scenario occurred when Betsy King and Beth Daniel won the LPGA POTY awards in 1993 and 1994, respectively.
Furthermore, Korda’s five consecutive victories match a feat only achieved by Nancy Lopez in 1978 and Annika Sorenstam in 2004-05. Japanese golfer Ayaka Furue only needed to win the final four events on the schedule to catch up with Korda but instead finished in a tie for 10th at the Toto Japan Classic.
Korda will collect the Rolex LPGA Player of the Year award and the ANNIKA Major Award at the Rolex LPGA Awards program on November 20, 2024.
