Nelly Korda Breaks Record After Finishing 2024 LPGA Season in the 60s in 62% Rounds Played

Nelly Korda had her eyes on the CME Group Tour Championship. However, she could not come out victorious at the final event of the LPGA Tour 2024 season. She carded rounds of 72, 66, 69, and 66, finishing at T5, with a whopping seven strokes behind Atthiya Thitikul, who clinched the trophy at the Tiburon golf course and took home $4 million.

Despite her loss, there is no arguing that the Rolex World No. 1 has never failed to amuse her fans with her ability to finish strong. And as it turns out, she has managed to bag yet another record for the 2024 season.

Nelly Korda adds another feather to her hat

In her 2024 season, Nelly Korda appeared in sixteen events and made the cut in thirteen of them. The number is a little low because she injured her neck during the Solheim Cup practice round, and that cost her three events.

Nonetheless, there is no stopping her. She bagged eleven top-10 finishes, out of which seven of them were her victories in a single season. She is only the third professional to be able to grab so many wins in just a year.

This earned her a whopping $4.4 million. She has had bad days for sure, but she made sure she only came back strong. Take the Annika driven by Gainbridge earlier this month for example. She returned to the field after two long months due to her injury, but as it turns out, she did emerge victorious winning the round. And well, as it turns out, this time too was no different.

A figure of $227,500 went her way for the T5 finish, with Justin Ray now sharing a hugely impressive statistic following the end of her final round of 2024. “Nelly Korda finished the 2024 LPGA season shooting in the 60s in 63.2% of her rounds played,” he wrote on X. “That is the highest single-season percentage of rounds in the 60s all-time by a player with 50 or more rounds that year.”

Even Golf Digest took to their official X account and reshared the post, on their wall. They correctly captioned it, “Nelly Korda was historic this year.” With the season coming to an exceptional end, she is all set to come back in the 2025 season, with more records to break.Meanwhile, share your thoughts about her performance this year with us on the comments section below!
