Justin Thomas Set to Compete in Zozo Championship: Final Stop Before Welcoming First Child

The 2024 ZOZO Championship means a lot more than just a competition for Justin Thomas. After the conclusion of the opening round a few hours ago, he is tied for seventh position with eight other PGA Tour Pros. He has a score of 4-under, after carding five birdies and a bogey on the fourth hole.

However, he is planning to give in his best foot to grab the top position. But why is the win so important for JT?

Justin Thomas is soon to be a father

Justin Thomas has managed to enjoy fifteen PGA Tour victories, and out of them, four of them were secured in Asia. The ZOZO Championship, being played in Japan, might be the fifth one for him. And he wishes to grab on to the opportunity.

His first two PGA Tour wins came in Malaysia at the CIMB Classic in 2015 and 2016. A year later, he won the CJ Cup in South Korea. In 2019, he added a second victory at the CJ Cup in South Korea. The 31-year-old played at the inaugural event in 2019, where he bagged the T17 position, and well, this is the first time he is appearing after that.

And also, the last time before he becomes a father. The couple is expecting their first child in late November. “We’re very fortunate with the timing of being able, for me being able to come here. I think reality will probably set in when I’m flying home and then when I get home because it will be getting in crunch time,” he added.
