Hero World Challenge Round 2: Tee Time, Players Participating and More

The much awaited 2024 Hero World Challenge kickstarted a few hours ago on Thursday. After an intense round, PGA Tour Pro Cameron Young took the lead with an 8-under. He is two strokes ahead of Justin Thomas entering the second round. Young started playing on the PGA Tour in 2021, two years after he turned pro. And while he has come very close to clinching the trophy quite a few times, he is yet to bag a victory on the Tour. But if he continues his momentum till Sunday, maybe his dream is not very far away. He went completely bogey free, and made eight birdies. Following him, Justin Thomas is at 6-under entering the Friday round with a solo second position on the leaderboard. Unlike Young, he carded a bogey on the third hole, and one birdie on the seventh hole. His back nine had a total of six birdies. For T3, Akshay Bhatia, Ludvig Aberg, Patrick Cantlay, Scottie Scheffler and Sahith Theegala finished entering the second round with a 5-under. Here are the final list of pairings for Friday and the featured groups out of them.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has won the title for two consecutive years. He is aiming to grab it for the third time. He is paired with World No. 11 Patrick Cantlay, who has made a debut this year. Then there is Ludvig Aberg and Akshay Bhatia to tee off right after them at 12:23 pm ET. Both of them are making their debut this year, but they have significant differences in their OWGR rank.

While the former is at No. 3, the latter is at No. 31. Finally the biggest showdown is kept for the last pair, that is Cameron Young. While Young is all set to give his best to clinch his first trophy, Justin Thomas is all set to break his winless drought that has been going on for almost two years.
