Chaos Unfolds: Final Day of 2024 Shriners Children’s Open Marks Another Setback for PGA Tour

The 2024 Shriners Children’s Open is about to conclude in just a few hours. However, even during the last 36 holes, the turbulence throughout the journey did not stop at TPC Summerlin. While Las Vegas is often one of the greatest venues to host a PGA Tour event, this year, it seems to have gone south for the players.

The opening round of the PGA Tour event began on October 17. It was a great start, with warm and pleasant weather. However, the steering to a reverse gear during the afternoon teeing off pairs. It was left incomplete due to weather conditions that would not let an outdoor game go well in motion.

The round was continued ahead of the second round on Friday. While the moving day round was scheduled to take place right after the completion, it met with a delay of four hours due to wind gusts blowing in at a whopping speed of 40 m/h. This time, the misery was just not limited to the players.

The PGA Tour organizers had closed the TPC Summerlin for the audience as well, due to the concerning conditions. Well, Saturday too did not turn out to be quite great. Only 36 players out of the 66 who made the cut, could complete the penultimate round. The remainder teed off before the final round. After all the misery, Sunday is going pretty well.

While some of them are still left to tee off, currently JT Poston is in the lead with an 18-under, three strokes ahead of Doug Ghim. On the other hand, Kurt Kitayama, Gary Woodland, Alejandro Tosti, and three others are tied for the third position.
