Black Desert Championship Set to Debut in 2024 During FedExCup Fall

The PGA Tour will be recurring to Utah after more than sixty years. Black Desert Resort along with the PGA Tour announced the debut of the 2024 Black Desert Championship on September 3, last year. They are bound by a four-year agreement, which will make the newly constructed course the host for the championship.

There was even a huge celebratory kickoff to make the official announcement of the event on the following Friday at the Greater Zion with Utah Governor Spencer Cox attending it along with the representatives from the Black Desert Resort.

It is all set to kickstart from October 10 to October 13, with some players from the DP World Tour, some from the Korn Ferry Tour, and others from various exemptions. “We are thrilled to partner with Black Desert Resort in bringing PGA TOUR golf to the state of Utah,” said PGA TOUR Executive Vice President and President Tyler Dennis.

“In introducing the PGA TOUR – and the LPGA the following year – to a new market, we look forward to collaborating with the Black Desert Resort team in their vision for professional golf in the Greater Zion community. Competitively, our members will enjoy the challenges and incredible views that define the Black Desert Golf Course.”

The 144-player field will be part of the PGA Tour’s 2024 FedEx Cup Fall and will soon become a full-field event. The excitement for the event is truly going to be unbeatable as the newly built course is a unique kind carved out of lava. Well, no golf courses have been made in that way to date.
