Andy Murray went emotional and announced his retirement at the Wimbledon. However, looks like sport runs deep into his blood. The retired tennis player is now planning to enter the world of golf. Professionally or not, that is yet to be discovered. He even changed his official X account bio to “I played tennis. I now play golf.” Well, apart from the speculations, he did make his case at the Wentworth ahead of the BMW PGA Championship.
Andy Murray flexes his swing at Wentworth
The DP World Tour event hosts a special celebrity pro-am ahead of the opening round. Andy Murray took up the opportunity to get onto the golf course and show off his grip on the golf clubs and bombs. He struck his drive exceptionally well and with absolutely outstanding power. The spectators started cheering for him looking at his form. Even the PGA Tour took to their official X account and uploaded his video. They captioned it, “Trading the court for the course. Retirement seems to be going well for @Andy_Murray!”
The retired tennis player followed his tee practice with a spectacular shot over the bunker. The bomb was then left even closer to the green, making it easier to putt it into the hole. He then made his final shot which left him very close to the pin. This was a shot that drew more appreciation from the audience. He then exchanged his driver with the putter and unfortunately, the ball was left a few inches short of making it into the hole.
Nonetheless, it was a great shot for someone who is a nonprofessional golfer. Finally, for the fourth hole, he tapped in the ball to finish the shot. He came as a guest for Robert MacIntyre, who will be part of the field of the BMW PGA Championship. Well, he did leave everybody impressed. What are your thoughts about Murray shifting careers?
