The 2024 season might be her last. However, her commitment to the team remains unwavering. She will be a part of the US team based on the six spots of the Captain’s pick. Lexi Thompson made her debut at the Solheim Cup back in 2013 at the Colorado Golf Club and has been a part of the team ever since.
She holds an impressive record of 9-7-7 overall and a 5-2-1 in the alternate-shot format. “She’s right where she needs to be. She’s struggled, but I think making the (retirement) announcement and kind of getting that monkey off her back, you’ve seen some better golf come after that,” Lewis said. “And holds another card that nobody else has. And that’s the experience. And I know she’s one of those players that plays better when she gets here, too.”
This year will mark her 7th appearance and despite her presence, the US team had last grabbed the trophy in 2017 at Des Moines. At the last edition, in 2021 at Span Europe retained the trophy after winning in 2019. The 29 YO is all set to grab the victory for the team this year.
Although she has announced not to make a comeback, the team captain believes that this definitely will not be her last year.
