The 2024 Presidents Cup is scheduled to begin from September 24, and will go on till September 29. The US team will be led by Jim Furyk, and the International team by Mike Weir. On Tuesday, both the captains announced their six picks and completed their teams. The choices for the Stars and Stripes team did indeed give out a lot of shocker to the fans.

One of the most important ones is Justin Thomas not being selected to play. This is the first time and he will not be playing the tournament since 2012. However, looks like whatever happens, happens for a reason.

With not being part of the Presidents Cup, Justin Thomas called an end to the 2024 season on his official Instagram account. After bagging a T9 finish at the Tour Championship, JT wrote, “I look forward to working to get back there next year.” The American professional was of course sad for not being able to represent the USA at the event. Nonetheless, he is excited to watch the match.

“I will be the first one pulling for them and watching while using it as motivation to not miss a team event again as they are some of my favorite weeks I’ve had,” he added. He has indeed had a rather hectic 2024 season and there is no better time to take some time off and spend time off the course. Most importantly his family needs him more than anything this time around.

It is through the post, after congratulating Scottie Scheffler on his performance that he very casually announced the news of becoming a dad. “It will be nice to have some time to work on things, foundation event, some R&R, and even become a dad at the end of November!” was his statement.

The lovebirds tied the knot in November 2022, and are finally looking forward to expanding the Thomas family after almost two years!
