The 2024 FedEx Cup Fall Series has begun. For the fifth of the eight events, the PGA Tour has reached Chiba in Japan to have a thrilling weekend. The ZOZO Championship kickstarted in 2019, with the legendary golfer Tiger Woods taking home the trophy at the inaugural edition.
This year will mark its sixth year of competition at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club. It is scheduled to take place from October 24 to October 27, and it is currently the only PGA Tour event which is held in Japan. Some of the top golfers all across the globe will be giving in their best swings for a prize money of a whopping $8,500,000 million.
What does the winner of the ZOZO Championship take home?
Joining Tiger Woods will be defending champion Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Max Homa, and Hideki Matsuyama. Matsuyama bagged the trophy at the venue in 2021, and these are some of the names from the list of marquee players.
The event will be the regular 72-hole championship played through four days and will feature no cut throughout. The event played at the par 70, 7079 yards course will have one winner declared after the final round on Sunday. Whoever bags the trophy this year, will take home a whopping $1.53 million.
Well, that might just be the monetary prospect of winning. Apart from that, the winner will also get 500 FedEx Cup points, making a huge difference in the standings for the 2025 Playoffs.
