The penultimate event of the 2024 LIV Golf season has come to an end and how! It took Jon Rahm eight months to finally bag a win in an event on the breakaway league. He won the LIV Golf UK and broke down being emotional. However, the Spaniard remained consistent throughout all his performances. Although he did not win gold, he managed to stay in the top 10 in all the events. This was what ranked him No. 1 on the LIV Golf Individual standings. And well, everything’s well that ends well.
Jon Rahm bagged the 2024 LIV Golf Individual Championship title
Jon Rahm shot a 4-under 66 on Sunday and lifted the LIV Golf Individual Championship trophy at the Bolingbrook Golf Course. Along with the prestigious title and the trophy, he and claimed a whopping $4 million from the $20 million purse. Along with that Rahm got to take home the $18 million bonus money in his debut season on the breakaway league.
This is because of winning the ultimate player of the year title. This season, the Spaniard has managed to bag over $34 million. Following him were Joaquin Niemann and Sergio Garcia. Both tied for the second position in the championship.
On the Individual player standings, Joaquin Niemann was finally ranked second, which bagged him a bonus money of $8 million which skyrocketed his earnings to $24.4 million. While Sergio Garcia bagged only $4 million in bonus money, which rounded off his season earnings to $17.1 million.
