Tiger Woods and Erica Herman: What Happened Between Them?

Tiger Woods and Erica Herman

The split between Tiger Woods and his ex-girlfriend Erica Herman was indeed a messy one. From being in love to suing the golfing legend, the relationship between the two ended in ways no one would imagine about concluding things with their partner.

On October 2022, Herman alleged that Woods used “trickery” to kick her out of his home, following their split in fall 2022. Furthermore, in later court documents obtained, Herman alleged that Woods’ actions violated their “oral tenancy agreement,” allowing her to continue living as a “right” in Woods’ Hobe Sound, Florida home for a “certain duration of time.”

Herman sued Woods’ trust, the titleholder of the property for $30 million, claiming the sum represents the “reasonable rental value” of her ex’s residence for the remaining five years of their alleged oral tenancy agreement.

Furthermore, in 2023 attempted to nullify a non-disclosure agreement that Woods had her sign at the start of their relationship in 2017. As per US Magazine, the court documents read, “Because of the aggressive use of the Woods NDA against her by the Defendant and the trust under his control, the Plaintiff is unsure whether she may disclose, among other things, facts giving rise to various legal claims she believes she has.”

Herman also issued charges of sexual harrassment against Woods as part of her legal suit. As per the court documents, “When the sexual relationship ended, she [Erica Herman] was kicked out of her home.”

“Mr. Woods does not own the house; it is owned by a trust. Ms. Herman had a tenancy agreement with the trust. That agreement was broken, and Mr Woods and his agents have taken the position that this happened because of the end of the sexual relationship with a co-tenant. That conduct counts to sexual harrassment under federal and Florida fair housing laws.”

In May 2023, a Florida judge dismissed Herman’s lawsuit against Woods and directed for private arbitration, stating their disputed NDA. However, Herman still appealed the ruling, arguing that the trial court had incorrectly applied federal statutory law on comeplled arbitration related to sexual harrasment disputes.

However, as a shocking development, Erica Hermann later dropped both the cases against Woods. In her later claim, Hermann stated that she was “never a victim of sexual harassment or sexual abuse at the hands of Tiger Woods.”

It is true that everyone deserve a fair trial and their day in the court of law. However, despite the claims of Erica Herman, fans have often wondered why the case dragged on for as long as it had.

Some allege that Herman tried to get a payout from Woods, which they believe is an attempt at judicial blackmail. However, some also agree with Herman, saying she deserved her say in speaking up against a larger than life entity, who might not be as pious as one may imagine him to be.
