Scottie Scheffler’s 2024 season has been nothing short of spectacular, with the World No. 1 breaking multiple records and solidifying his status as one of the game’s top players. In a year filled with consistency and dominance, Scheffler has redefined what it means to perform at the highest level.
Additionally, Scheffler set a new record for strokes gained this season, surpassing his own career best and making him one of the most consistent players on the tour. His driving accuracy, approach shots, and putting have been unmatched, with many calling him the most well-rounded player in the game right now.
He also won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics this year. And, not to forget that he did manage to bag the highest number of wins this season in a single year. Let us revisit the priceless memories of the 2024 season of the World No. 1.
1. Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard
Scottie Scheffler’s first win came in his sixth appearance of the season in March. After bagging four top – 10 finish, and a T17 at The American Express, the 28 YO successfully defeated Wyndham Clark by a whopping five stroke lead at the Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge.
This was a great feather to his cap since it is one of the signature events of the Tour. He went completely bogey free in the last round, and ended with an impressive score of 6-under 66.
2. THE PLAYERS Championship
His second victory of the season came just a week after his first one, and it was back to back. At the TPC Sawgrass in USA, Scottie Scheffler finished with a score of 20-under after playing 72 holes. He successfully defeated Brian Harman, Xander Schauffele, and once again Wyndham Clark by four strokes. And he did manage to end the finale with a bang, carding an impressive 390 yard eagle!
3. Masters Tournament
Scottie Scheffler bagged a win at the first Major of the season. There were high chances that he would back out, since Meredith Scheffler was due with his first baby, and could go into labour any moment. He had already stated that he would withdraw from the tournament the moment he got any news. But luck favoured him, and he scored an impressive 11-under accumulative score, defeating Ludvig Aberg by four strokes at the Augusta National.
4. RBC Heritage
Scottie Scheffler took another consecutive victory right before his son was born. He defeated Sahith Theegala by a whopping three strokes at the Harbour Town Golf Links, and added another signature event win to his resume.
5. The Memorial Tournament presented by Workday
The 28 YO grabbed his fifth victory on the Tour this season in June. At the Muirfield Village Golf Club, Scheffler carded rounds of 67-68-71-74. He defeated Collin Morikawa by a close call of a one stroke lead. Well, luck too was in his favour of course, as it has been throughout the year.
6. Tour Championship
After being on the top of both the OWGR list and the FedEx Cup Standings, Scottie Scheffler entered the East Field with an eight-stroke advantage. He was already declared the winner, and only Xander Schauffele could defeat him. However, Schauffele dropped down to T4, and Scheffler bagged his sixth victory of the season at East Lake, once again defeating Colin Morikawa, but this time with a four stroke lead.
7. Hero World Challenge
One of his standout achievements this year was his back-to-back victory at the Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas, which made him only the third player in PGA Tour history to win the prestigious Hero World Challenge twice. This feat placed him alongside legends like Tiger Woods and Viktor Hovland, both of whom had previously achieved the same milestone.
Scheffler’s ability to stay calm and composed under pressure, especially when the competition heats up, has been a hallmark of his game.
