The BMW Ladies Championship concluded its first round on Thursday. Hannah Green from Australia entered the Friday round with a solo lead at 12-under. She was two strokes ahead of Ashleigh Buhai, who finished in the second position. While, Lydia Ko, Nanna Koerstz Madsen, Hye-Jin Choi, and Jenny Shin were at T3 with a score of 8-under.
As the second round was all set to kickstart, rain washed out the entire match play in South Korea. None of the players in the field could complete their round. According to the report, the round was suspended at 1:05 pm due to unplayable course conditions.
A few hours ago, the official X account of LPGA Media posted another recent update, sharing the latest news about the second round of the 2024 BMW Ladies Championship. It said, “Update: Round 2 of the #BMWLadiesChampion will resume Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8:00 a.m. local. There will be no re-pairing with Round 3 slated to begin at 9:48 a.m. local.”
According to the weather report, Saturday does predict ‘some sun’ for South Korea. While there is only a 1% probability of rain, there is a 0% chance of thunderstorms. Now this might come as a relief to the players. But the news was not all sunshine and rainbow for them.
All the 72 players on the field will have no rest between the second and the penultimate round. The Saturday round will begin immediately after the moving day round concludes. This might cause fatigue and exhaustion for a lot of them.
